Monday: IT Band/Shin Splint rehab exercises
Tuesday AM: IT Band/Shin Splint rehab exercises
Tuesday PM: 30 minutes elliptical- Resistance program 1
Thursday: 45 minutes of stretching. (I foam roll and stretch nearly every day, but it usually only takes about 15 minutes. Today I did a lot more focused stretching than usual. I'm going to try to spend one night doing this every week for 45- 1 hour).
Friday: 30 min. elliptical- Resistance program 3, walk 1 mile on 4.0 on the treadmill
Saturday AM: Nike Training Club App- Arm definer, 15 minutes. Holy crap. Kicked my butt. My arms have been SO SORE.
Saturday PM: 30 minutes elliptical- Resistance program 4, and walk 2 miles at 4.2 on the treadmill
After a week of rest I no longer feel pain in my shins while I'm resting or walking around. That is good news!
Highlight: I've been doing the elliptical/treadmill walks with my friend Audra. She took last year off because she had the cutest baby girl EVER, but she is starting training again and will be running the Wasatch Back with me this year. I. LOVE. HER. She was my original
Last week's goal: Follow my PT's advice. No running. Check!
This week's goal: Go to bed before 11PM every night. I'm a night owl and mornings have been killing me. I know that in order to stay in tip top shape I need to get adequate rest. That means I need to knock it off and get my butt in bed earlier.
Do you spend any time stretching every week? Do you have a special place in your heart for your training partners?

Your week sounds a lot like what the last three months have been like for me!! Way to get all that stretching in! I am really bad at listening to my PT. I should follow your amazing example!
Sounds like a great rehab week... and basically the same sort of week that I'm in the middle of. I don't usually stretch, but I sure am making time for it right now! And the elliptical has been my bf lately. :)
Good luck with your last week of rehab. I'm sure you'll be all ready to go by next Monday!
I'm not much of a stretcher, but I'm making more of an effort to roll my legs out after workouts etc.
I have sentimental feelings for all my running buddies. My biking buddy April was actually my first running buddy, but I got faster than her so we're not good running buddies anymore. However, we are perfect cycling buddies so I still get to hang with her.
I've had a lot of running buddies over the years and they all hold a special place in my heart and I'd drop pretty much anything to run with them!
I've never had trouble with shins but I do have trouble with IT Band. I roll a lot. I've found that when I run too many PR's and my speed picks up that my IT Band gives. I find that happens to a lot of people that way. I hope you get better soon :) It's tough not running!
I stretch out after ALL exercise for at least 20 mins...I'm really flexible now b/c of it! YAY!
I definitely stretch after doing most forms of exercise but I really should stretch at other times more frequently. I have "the stick" though and I use that when needed.
I know I need to spend more time stretching and at some point I'm sure it's going to catch up to me if I don't start spending more time on that.
