Why wait???

What can I say?  I'm not very good at holding myself back.  So, on my run tonight, I just went for it- and blew my previous 5K PR time out of the water by over a minute and a half.

New 5K PR- 21:04 with a 6:47/mile average!

Who's saying that I still don't have a goal to get a new 5K PR in Vegas?  After all, I've got to break into those 20's sometime, right?

Stoked :D

Do you believe that you can only get a new PR at races?
Heck no!!!  If it's the fastest you've ever run that distance- race or no- then that is what I call a PR.  Don't wait for a race- go out and chase down a new PR; I want to hear about it!

You freaking rock! Love this. And in my opinion setting a PR on you own race is 100 times harder than in a real race. So heck yes it counts!

You remind me of Zamperini. You are going to break 20 minutes easily!

THAT IS AWESOME! I already have a goal for my next 5k to be sub 20! I can't wait :D you are gonna smoke this can't wait to read about it. and I completely agree I had never raced before this weekend so I was constantly PR'ing and PDR'ing all the time LOL

How long do you think it will take me to be that fast ??? I just raced a sub 27 min 5k as you know....hmmm

Wow, awesome P.R.!! That is so great. Seriously. I think it's great you decided to go for it. I say if you're feeling it, then do it. I used to P.R. in practice at BYU all the time. I think it's an excellent confidence builder. Haha I distinctly remember a fast repeat 400 meter workout my freshman year where I got a new best time after each interval. Not that my 400 time was ever fast, and still isn't, but it was funny.
